The LA Dance Project
Dubai - Egypt Today

Due to popular demand, LA Dance Project’s GCC premiere of Benjamin Millepied’s Gems Trilogy, Part III is to extend its forthcoming run at Dubai Opera by an extra day.
Originally scheduled to run on September 28, the LA Dance Project will now offer an additional performance on September 29 and tickets are on sale now.
The LA Dance Project will present works including Murder Ballades by Justin Peck and Hearts & Arrows and On the Other Side by Benjamin Millepied as part of the show, which brings together visual artists, musicians, designers alongside composers including the legendary Philip Glass.
The Gems Trilogy, which began in 2012, has toured 11 countries and 34 cities to date, performing new works and collaborations from influential dance makers worldwide.
The New York Times has said of previous shows: "The way the dancers are constantly moving, through asymmetrical patterns, surging in and out of groups, separating into solos and pairs. Narratives, emotion, histories and memories are evoked by the way the dancers coalesce and part. Everything is unexpected yet everything feels serendipitously right."
Dubai Opera’s Chief Executive, Jasper Hope, commented: "I am delighted that as a result of such strong sales for their Dubai debut we’re now able to make a second date available for the incredible LA Dance Project. We saw with Ballet Bejart Lausanne last year that there’s a very strong and appreciative audience in the UAE for the very best contemporary dance and this extra show will give even more people the chance to experience another amazing night at Dubai Opera this September."
