Ten workers from a construction company were killed in a fire in India's northern state of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday, dpa quoted news reports as saying.
The fire broke out in a camp for workers near a highway in the Ramban district early Friday when the victims were sleeping.
The workers appeared to have died of suffocation and burns, the Indian Express reported.
Four more workers were admitted to hospital with severe burns.
Local police said that although the cause of fire was yet to be determined it was suspected that an electrical short-circuit caused the accident.
