Dr. Carolina Othman explained that polycystic ovarian disease affects the ovaries, due to of a hormonal imbalance in the body. "It is sometimes associated with several symptoms that appear together on the patient and the so-called PCOS, such as menstrual cycle disorders, increased body weight and the appearance of coarse hair in different parts of the woman's body," she said, adding that sometimes the disease has no symptoms and can be discovered accidentally during the routine examination of the patient.

"This is a very common gender disease, with a country-to-country incidence and overall incidence rate of 5-10%," Dr. Othman said. She added that the real causes of the emergence of the disease is unknown and believed that there is a genetic nature of the disease.

The doctor confirmed that this disease causes an increase in the incidence of acne, skin becomes greasy, and drop because of the high hormone of repeated projection in the body. PCOS may be associated with increased blood pressure and diabetes.
