Prime Minister Sherif Ismail stressed Wednesday the importance of completing the studies of the second and third phases of the Roubiky’s leather tannery in Cairo, after the first phase was completed.
Ismail’s remarks came during a meeting to follow up the progress made in the project. The ministers of housing, environment, local development, along with the Cairo governor were present.
The premier said that establishing a city for manufacturing and handling leathers came as part of the country’s interest in developing this industry, and providing the necessary support to other industries.
The move would help in boosting production and increasing exports to achieve sustainable growth, Ismail said, adding the government was sparing no efforts to attract more local and foreign investments in such industries.
Endorsing the new investment law includes many incentives that encourage expansion in many industries, he added.
