
Prime Minister Sherif Ismail on Saturday asserted that the government’s program to filter the Subsidy Smart Card system was meant to help the neediest people and drirect the subsidies to the people who deserve.
Chairing a meeting of the social justice ministerial committee, Ismail said the filtration of the subsidy database is part of social protection measures.
The meeting was attended by the ministers of Planning, Social Solidarity, Higher Education, Military Production, Health, Education, Finance and Supply.
Ismail called for more coordination between the ministries to update and put up the database for discussion in the coming cabinet meeting.
