Shots were fired but no injuries reported in the arrest of a woman Wednesday near the US Capitol in Washington, authorities said.
The suspect was arrested after allegedly ramming a marked Capitol Police car, a few hundred metres south of the Capitol building, police said.
Television images showed a car with two rear windows shattered at the scene.Two witnesses told News Channel 8, a Washington news channel, that they heard three gunshots.
