Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud telephoned US President Donald Trump, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday night.
During the call, the US president condemned the attempt by the Houthi militia to target the city of Riyadh with a ballistic missile.
Trump asserted the US stance in support of Saudi Arabia in confronting threats to its national security.
They also discussed the measures to implement the relevant Security Council resolutions and hold the Iranian regime accountable for its aggressive actions.
The two leaders stressed the need to support all relief and humanitarian operations in order to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people.
