US Vice President Mike Pence said Monday that President Donald Trump is seriously considering moving the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
""After decades of simply talking about it, the president is giving serious consideration to moving the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem," Pence said before the annual meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), the largest pro-Israel group in the country.
During the 2016 US presidential campaign, Trump's team spoke often about moving the US embassy to Jerusalem. But since taking office, the contentious issue appears to have moved to the backburner.
