A number of Their Excellences Ministers and officials have praised the sponsoring and gracing of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to the Education Excellence Day. They described honoring of the winners by HH the Emir as encouragement to spread the culture of excellence in Qatar's community and motivate everyone to excel and innovate in all fields. 
Speaking to the press during the closing ceremony at the Sheraton Doha Hotel, Their Excellences said the award is a true translation of the wise leadership's directives to instill the culture of excellence in Qatari nationals and place Qatar in the ranks of developed nations through education and learning. 
HE Minister of Development Planning and Statistics Dr Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabit said the Education Excellence Award reflects the attention given to innovators and the distinguished personnel, motivating them to continue excellence in all fields. 
Al Nabit added the award promotes innovation, education and creativity, and also focuses on human development which is one of main four pillars of Qatar National Vision. 
HE Minister of Administrative Development and Labor and Social Affairs Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi said the award serves as a motive to encourage students to succeed and to continue excellence and innovation in all education phases and beyond. 
It is necessary to attain excellence be it during education or employment, Al Nuaimi said, confirming that the outstanding students would benefit themselves and their country through leadership positions in the future. 
HE Minister of Municipality and Environment Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Rumaihi said the award highlighted the leadership and country's appreciation to education, scientists and distinguished individuals who will in the future be responsible in leading positions. 
Al Rumaihi referred to the awards' goals and message that motivates the community to achieve excellence as a service to their country that provide them with excellent education and learning. 
HE Chairman of Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al-Thani said that excellence has become the Qatari community's characteristic especially in view of the leadership's efforts to provide good education opportunities, a matter which making Qatar occupies a prominent position among the advanced countries in the field of education. 
HH the Emir's honoring and gracing to the award means a lot to the Qatari youth in terms of motivating them to follow an excellence path through education and learning, he added, pointing out that the private sector plays a major role in supporting education and distinguished individuals by establishing a number of schools and private universities, adding that this role complements the nation's efforts in this field.  
HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Rabea Mohammed Al Kaabi, said HH the Emir's honoring of the award reflects HH's interest in the education system and its role in achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030. 
Allocating a day to celebrate education excellence motivates all the components of the system to compete and excel in the educational field, he added. He further expressed his satisfaction with the results of the distinguished personnel who have met all the conditions and standards of excellence. 
The Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education Fawzia Al Khater, stated that the ten years of the award have been filled with excellence, competition and leadership in all aspects. 
She called on all honorees to maintain their excellence, sustain the spirit of responsibility and remain to be a source of innovation and excellence. 
Chairperson of the award, Dr. Hamda Hassan Al Sulaiti, praised the honoring of the outstanding students and considered the award to be the highest education award to be attained. She added that the past ten years of the award has achieved many of its goals of spreading the culture of innovation and excellence in the community and motivating students to better themselves. 
Adding two categories in the primary and preparatory school students has encouraged the students to explore their abilities and capabilities at a young age. 
Chairman of the Executive Committee Hassan Al Mohammadi said the award was able to force itself on the community as the most important award in the educational field. He added that the award not only motivates the students to excel, but it also helps the students develop and their communication and leadership skills; volunteering skills; and team work which are important for the success of future generations. 
The Education Excellence Day honors distinguished Qatari students in different fields to spread culture of creativity and excellence in the Qatari society and urge students toward achieving more acquisition of knowledge and integrate individual and institutional efforts to improve education process outputs to meet global standards and levels. 
In celebration of the tenth anniversary of the award, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education issued commemorative book, organized a documenting exhibition of the award, issued commemorative stamp and built a mural for the occasion. 
There are a total 46 winners, 20 are primary school students, two preparatory school students, nine secondary school pupils, eight higher education students, two teachers, one school, two research papers and two doctorate projects. 
The number of candidates for the award were 262, 133 are primary students, 22 preparatory students, 21 secondary students, 21 higher education students, 17 teachers, 8 schools, 29 research students and 11 doctorate students. 
The award holds eight categories Education Excellence Award for primary school students; Education Excellence Award for preparatory school students; Education Excellence Award for high school students; Education Excellence Award for university graduates; Education Excellence Award for PhD holders; Education Excellence Award for distinguished teacher; Education Excellence Award for distinguished school; Education Excellence Award for scientific research.
