LPI launches the learning survey 2012

The Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) has today (Monday) launched the Learning Survey 2012 – a comprehensive review of the workplace learning sector. Shaped by Institute members and backed by hundreds of Institute accredited organisations, the Learning Survey is a comprehensive review of the workplace learning sector. The research will build a picture of the current workplace learning landscape and plot future trends for 2012 and beyond The survey will look at how L&D professionals are using learning media such as e-learning, mobile learning, social media, e-labs and webinars, how budgets are being allocated and issues involving skills, resources and knowledge. This year’s survey will look to build on the success of last year, where over 500 L&D professionals completed the Learning Survey 2011, with some interesting results. Learning & Performance Institute Chief Executive, Colin Steed has seen both the good and bad in changes this year. He said: “The continued economic conditions seem to have increased the speed and necessity for change in many industries, but the changes are not all bad. In the L&D sector we’ve seen a sharp rise in the adoption of emerging learning technologies, especially in the public sector, and I would expect this to increase again next year. The LPI is a self-governing, not-for-profit professional body for workplace learning professionals. It was established in 1995 and since then has grown on an annual basis. The Institute is now a self-governing body. Today, the organisation has circa 3,500 individual members and 400 accredited organisations.
