His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, attended the Future Dialogue sessions on Dubai Plan 2021, organised by the General Secretariat of the Dubai Executive Council.

He toured the venue designated for the Future Dialogue to acquaint himself with the strategic programmes set to implement the Dubai Plan 2021. Work teams discussed eight main themes in the course of the dialogue. Shaikh Mohammad attended part of the session titled A generation for the Nation, which featured 20 speakers who engaged in debate to set solutions to improve academic performance of Emirati pupils in private schools.

Shaikh Mohammad also interacted with Habiba Mohammad Bin Thalith, an employee at the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, about the importance of positive energy in making students happy. He praised the authority’s efforts in extending bridges of communication between the older and future generations.

On the sidelines of his visit, Shaikh Mohammad launched the Mohammad Bin Rashid Distinguished Students Programme in Dubai to provide opportunities for outstanding Emirati students to join the best private schools in the emirate and give them access to the best educational services.

The initiative will be implemented in the next academic year 2017-18.

The programme seeks to combine all the elements of success and excellence through innovative, smart and positive learning methods to build a promising Emirati generation empowered with skillset, knowledge and qualifications to further the nation’s march of progress and leave their clear imprint on the country’s future.

The programme aims to empower young Emiratis to form the influential and leading nucleus of the future society and Dubai’s economy.

Shaikh Mohammad said, “We have great confidence in the UAE youth and see their efforts come to fruition through innovative progress across different fields. We will only accept the best education for our Emirati students, creating a generation encompassing all the values, qualifications and abilities that will achieve the UAE’s hopes and aspirations, and lift us in terms of global competitiveness, leadership and excellence.”

Shaikh Mohammad listened to healthcare services for autistic individuals during a session that highlighted the role that must be played by both the government and community to ensure that people with autism get their full right to be integrated into mainstream society.

In the cyber security session, Shaikh Mohammad highlighted the importance of this topic and the need to take security measures to counter any cyber security breaches that might harm the emirate’s reputation.

Solutions and recommendations were put forward by the work team in order to set a framework to define the forms of cybercrimes, including the role of social networking sites and the spread of social media platforms and the need to counter challenges to curb these crimes.

Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, said the programme aligns with the Dubai 2021 Plan that aims to build an educated and enlightened Emirati generation overwhelmed with happiness and pride.

The programme aims to support outstanding Emirati pupils who have the passion to join the emirate’s best private schools that provides high quality of education as per international standards so as to position the UAE among top countries in education globally
