His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, Captain of the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team, confirmed that the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team achieved the goals for which it participated in the French Lignières Race by achieving honourable results for the Kingdom. HH Shaikh Nasser added that the Team is also preparing for future championships in endurance racing, hoping to achieve more honourable results, increasing the number of achievements by the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team and working to strengthen them.
HH Shaikh Nasser’s remarks came after the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team, represented by Al Roud Team, won the first place in the Lignières Race which covered a distance of 120km. The Team’s achievement was recorded by Hamad Al Kaabi who finished the Race riding Waterlea Commodore at 05.22.53 hours with an average speed of 25 km.
On the occasion of the new achievement by the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team in its second European participation, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa said that the Team benefited greatly from this distinguished participation in terms of training and performance and the enthusiasm of the riders to win first place. "Everything went the way the Team wanted, with them deservedly earning the first place, confirming the high standing and marked excellence of Bahraini endurance sport," HH Shaikh Nasser explained.
His Highness Shaikh Nasser expressed his deep appreciation for the great victory of the Al Roud Team’s Al Kaabi, who was given the opportunity to participate in international competitions in line with the Bahrain Royal Endurance Team’s strategy to support riders and involve GCC riders with the Team.
Daij bin Salman: Continuous successes
Manager of Al Roud Team, Shaikh Daij bin Salman Al Khalifa, expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for supporting and following up with the riders, which resulted in achieving first place in the Race. He indicated that the plan drawn by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa before heading to the Lignières Race was distinguished and led to the Team’s victory in the Race which featured an elite group of the world’s finest participants. He added that the Race was a success by all standards.
