The 'Mother of the UAE' came ahead of other leading women from around the world to win this year’s Agent of Change Award, presented by the UN Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women, UN Women, he added.

"We, in the UAE, are proud of what was highlighted when presenting this award to Sheikha Fatima, which reflected her key role in women’s empowerment in the UAE, the region and the entire world, and her role in strengthening the relations between the UN and the UAE, establishing the UN Women Liaison Office for the Gulf Cooperation Council, GCC, in Abu Dhabi, as well as her incredible and continuous accomplishments for a better future for the people of the world, and her efforts to promote dialogue, understanding and peaceful co-existence between all nations and people," Sheikh Nahyan said.

"We are honoured and proud of Sheikha Fatima’s role in encouraging and inspiring new generations, and her desire to achieve successful human development in every area," he continued.

Sheikh Nahyan noted that the World Family Organisation, WFO, presented, this week, the "Family Advocate Award" to Sheikha Fatima, which coincided with the launch of the 'Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak International Family Award', in addition to the other prestigious awards supported by Her Highness that aim to promote the welfare of the family, support women and achieve true development for children around the world.

"I mention, with great pride, the statement of the President of the WFO, where she said that she has never known someone like Sheikha Fatima, as a personality and true example of a responsible and active human being who cares for the cohesion of the family, the advancement of women, and caring for children, and who always stresses that women and children are the pillars of the family’s advancement and the foundation of performing its important role in the community," he further added.

Sheikh Nahyan presented his utmost congratulations and respect to the Mother of the UAE, as a leading global example of women’s leadership and success, and for her generous patronage of the summit
