Supreme commander, army chief discuss military issues

His Majesty King Abdullah II, the supreme commander of the armed forces, Saturday called on the General Headquarters of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army, where he was welcomed by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, the Royal Air Force commander and other senior officers.
In a meeting, the army chief briefed the King about the outcome of his visit to the United States last week, in which he held a series of meetings with US Defence Department military leaders aimed to enhance military cooperation between the two countries.
They also discussed a number of issues of concern to the armed forces.
The supreme commander was assured about the level of military readiness of the various army units, voicing his confidence and pride in their personnel and the advanced level of armament and training they had achieved, as well as their tremendous role in defending national and Arab issues.
