Abul Gheit confer on steps taken to end Palestinian division

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas conferred with Arab League Secretary General Ahmed Abul Gheit on the latest developments of the Palestinian issue topped by the current steps taken to end the Palestinian division, Spokesman of the Arab League Mahmoud Afifi said.
This came on the sidelines the 72nd session of the UNGA, he added.
Abbas reviewed the latest developments in the Palestinian reconciliation, lauding the Egyptian efforts exerted in this respect, he added.
Abbas also reviewed the results of the communications conducted with the regional and international parties which aim at getting the Israeli government back to the political process and the negotiation table, Afifi said.
Abul Gheit welcomed all the steps taken that aim at achieving Palestinian unity especially in light of the violations practiced against the Palestinians.
