Sisi, Burkina Faso president discussed regional developments

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held talks earlier on Wednesday with his Burkina Faso counterpart Roch Marc Christian Kabore on the latest regional developments, including the situation in Libya, the Sahel region, and a number of African issues, Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
During the talks, President Sisi asserted the importance of stepping up efforts aimed at achieving regional security and stability and fighting terrorism and organized crime in African Sahel region, Youssef added.
For his part, Kabore hailed Egypt’s role in combating terrorism and its efforts to settle the ongoing crises in the region, notably the Syrian and Libyan ones, Youssef noted. 
The two leaders agreed on continuing coordination between the two countries and among states of the Community of Sahel-Saharan, in addition to the African Union (AU), according to Youssef. 
Kabore’s visit to Egypt is a perfect opportunity to probe ways of fostering bilateral relations in various fields, Youssef quoted Sisi as saying. 
President Sisi underscored that Egypt was willing to strengthen cooperation with Burkina Faso, especially with regard to increasing Egyptian investments in different domains, including infrastructure, construction and energy, Youssef added.
Furthermore, the two presidents agreed to keep cooperation in the area of training and qualifying cadres in Burkina Faso through training programs provided by the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD), Youssef underlined. 
Kabore thanked Sisi for inviting him to visit Egypt, adding that they discussed boosting cooperation in various fields including health, military ones, along with efforts of fighting terrorism.
