Al Azhar imam meets Lebanese PM

Al Azhar Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed el Tayyeb received Wednesday Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting Egypt.
The meeting took up Al Azhar's role in spreading the moderate teachings of Islam and overcoming extremist ideologies.
They discussed also the documents issued by Al Azhar within the framework of its national role and the cooperation between Al Azhar and the Egyptian Church via the Egyptian Family House.
The get-together tackled the latest developments at the Arab and Islamic levels and cooperation ties between Egypt and Lebanon in various fields.
A statement is expected to be issued at the end of Hariri's visit to Al Azhar which is the first to the great Islamic edifice since assuming the duties.
