Yemeni government forces killed, Thursday,  the leader of Houthis militias, Sajjad al-Mutawakil, during the fierce battles that took place  at the entrances of Mowaz'a directorate and Thubani mountains, in Taiz.  A military source said that the leader of the Houthi is responsible for arming militia elements in the front of Khalid bin Walid camp, adding that number of his companions have killed with him in the mountains.

The source pointed out that the fighting continues at the entrances of Mowaz'a and in the outskirts of Thubani and Gharafi areas, amid a major advance of the Yemeni army to achieve full control of the region, according to official Yemeni news agency. The battles coincided with a series of air raids by Arab coalition jets, targeting weapons stores for militias in the mountains of Mowaz'a directorate followed by large explosions.

Meanwhile, Arab coalition jets launchedm, on Thursday, about 30 raids on positions of Houthi militants and forces loyal to them in the districts of Mowaz'a and Alwazia, west of Taiz.

A military source said the fighter jets launched 10 raids on Houthi stores in the mountains east of Mowaz'a, and that led to the destruction of weapons stores and huge explosions. Four raids on reinforcements took place at Mukha junction east of  Khalid camp, killing seven of Houthis and Saleh forces, and wounding 8 others.

The coalition jets also launched three striks on Houthis positions, west of Maqbbna, as well as launching three raids on Al-Ahiq junction, leaving five of Houthis killed and six others injured.

In Riyadh, Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Obaid bin Dajer said, on Thursday, that Houthis had looted 581 billion riyals of state resources, enough to pay state salaries for nine months. This came during a meeting in the Saudi capital with the British ambassador to Yemen, Simon Shirklev.

He pointed out that the government has sent salaries of some institutions and government agencies in the provinces that are still under the control of the coup, in our belief and sense of responsibility towards all citizens.

The Yemeni prime minister hailed the United Kingdom's support for Yemen and the legitimate government and its permanent efforts to achieve a lasting and just peace, which looks forward to the Yemeni people and based on the fundamental principles of the solution represented by the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism and the outcomes of the national dialogue and UN Security Council resolution No. 2216. He noted that the government is working hard on the delivery of relief and therapeutic aid to all governorates despite the presence of some difficulties by Houthis.

He referred to the government's efforts to normalize the situation in the liberated provinces, to provide basic services and to pay salaries to civilian and military personnel.
