President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed the importance of following up development plans of public sector companies.

Sisi made the statements on Tuesday during a meeting with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Tareq Amer, Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi, Interior Minister Magdy Abdel Ghaffar, Public Business Minister Ashraf Sharqawy, and other ministers and senior officials.

During the meeting, the president stressed the need for improving the performance of public sector companies and working on increasing their profits.

Sisi ordered establishing a database on unutilized assets and called for maintaining public funds and ensuring the optimal use of state assets.

The president was also briefed on efforts exerted by the government to develop the medical field in Egypt.

The meeting tackled preparations for Eidul Adha, slated for Friday September 1, and measures taken by the government to secure public squares during the feast.

The meeting also touched on efforts exerted by the government to set up a logistics centers nationwide to provide basic foodstuffs for citizens at affordable prices.
