The explosive, which targeted a patrol of the Algerian National Gendarmerie between Baghlia district and the town of Dellys in Boumerdes on Sunday evening, was detonated remotely by attackers.
The bomb was planted on National Road 25 on the edge of Baghlia city, and exploded once the patrol had passed.
Algeria’s National Security Directorate is investigating the attack, the second in eastern Algeria in one week.
