Egypt Today, egypt today ‘Stop the war’: Elissa urges fans to pray for Syria

Elissa
Jeddah - Arab Today

Arab musician and singer Elissa has had enough of the war in Syria. On Wednesday, she pleaded with her Twitter followers to pray for the Syrian people and an end to the carnage in the country.
“All I can do for the innocent Syrian people dying everyday is to pray for them. Join me in wishing this war stops very soon,” the Lebanese singer, who was born to a Syrian mother, wrote.
“The massacres in Syria are horrible. The pictures of babies and innocents dead are heart aching. Isn’t it about time to stop this bloody war?” she tweeted.
A suspected chemical attack killed at least 72 civilians, among them 20 children, in opposition-held northwestern Syria on Tuesday, prompting global outrage and calls for international action. The attack also left dozens more gasping for air, convulsing, and foaming at the mouth.
Over half of Syria’s population has been displaced internally and abroad since the conflict began, with regional neighbors hosting most of those who have become refugees.
