Islamabad - Arab Today

At least three people were killed and 12 injured when an oil tanker caught fire on the Super Highway, police said.

Of them seven people reached a local hospital by themselves, police said according to Geo News on Saturday.

Several people who received burn injuries have been transferred to a hospital in Burns Ward at Civil Hospital, Edhi officials said.

Police said the tanker was carrying 44,000 litres of oil which is still burning.

The fire spread to four nearby vehicles including a police mobile.

The accident occurred when brakes of the tanker failed and it began moving in a reverse direction.
