His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today visited the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, and a number of its offices, including the Bahrain and Saudi Investors Centres at Bahrain Financial Harbour.

During the visit, His Royal Highness highlighted that the Kingdom of Bahrain, led by His Majesty King Hamad, will continue to deliver a comprehensive national development plan which places the role of the citizen at the heart of Bahrain’s future progress.

His Royal Highness confirmed that the Kingdom will continue to strengthen regulatory procedures in support of industry and key trade sectors, in order to increase investment opportunities and enhance yields.

His Royal Highness noted the outcomes of the recent Government Summit, held under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prime Minister, Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, which sought to ensure the private sector continues to be a key driver of national development and a creator of equal opportunities for all Bahrainis.

His Royal Highness further noted that the principles of sustainability, fairness and competitiveness enshrined within Bahrain’s Vision 2030 will continue to inform all development activity in the Kingdom, ensuring prosperity for all citizens.

His Royal Highness highlighted the integral role that Ministry of Industry and Commerce-led programmes and initiatives play in creating an environment that stimulates growth across key sectors, including tourism, logistics, manufacturing, ICT, and financial services.

His Royal Highness added that significant improvements in the quality of government services reflect the concerted efforts made by all government departments to contribute to the Kingdom’s ongoing economic development. In this regard, His Royal Highness praised the achievements of the Ministry, working alongside stakeholders, in establishing the Saudi Investors Centre – an initiative born out of discussions between His Royal Highness and Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Interior, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness for visiting the Ministry. He noted that His Royal Highness’ continued support for the Ministry’s work has been instrumental to helping create improved investor registration procedures.

Al Zayani further noted that His Royal Highness’ recent directives will further strengthen Bahrain’s economic development, underlining the Kingdom’s reputation as an investment gateway to the region.

His Royal Highness was accompanied during the visit by Al Zayani, and a number of senior government officials.
