Russia: Greenpeace case outside jurisdiction of UN court

The Russian foreign ministry said Friday that the Greenpeace case fell outside the jurisdiction of an international maritime court which ordered the release of the group's Dutch-flagged ship and its crew on payment of a $4.9-million bond. "The Russian side proceeds on the basis that the situation with the Arctic Sunrise does not fall under the jurisdiction of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea," the ministry said in a statement on its website.
