Osborne: UK state pension age forecast to rise to 69 in late 2040s

The state pension age in Britain is forecast to rise to 69 in the late 2040s compared to the current level of 65, finance minister George Osborne said on Thursday. "This is one of those difficult decisions governments have to make if they're serious about controlling the public finances," Osborne told parliament in his autumn statement, an update on his budget earlier this year.
