Mozambique ex-rebels demand government troops leave base

Mozambique's former rebel movement Renamo on Tuesday demanded that government forces withdraw from the group's army base, pledging not to restart hostilities, a peace negotiator said. The movement "demands that the head of state withdraws his troops from that area in the country," said independent negotiator Lourenco do Rosario in a press conference after meeting Renamo leaders.
