Italy's Letta wins parliamentary confidence vote

Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta won a confidence vote on Wednesday in the lower house of parliament after promising to push a pro-European agenda, boost economic growth and fight against populism. Letta sailed through the vote as widely expected, with 379 members of parliament voting in favour and 212 against out of the 591 lawmakers who took part. The upper house Senate was set to vote later Wednesday.
