Italy closes Libya embassy, repatriates nationals

The Italian embassy in Libya, one of the last European missions in the troubled country, was closed on Sunday and its staff repatriated, the foreign ministry said, citing mounting insecurity.
In all, about 100 Italians were being evacuated from Libya on a vessel escorted by the navy, ministry sources said.
