France's Total: Net profit drops 17% in Q3

France's energy giant Total said on Thursday that its net profit dropped 17 percent in the third quarter 2013 to 2.8 billion euros (3.8 billion dollars). Adjusted net profit, excluding extraordinary items, fell 19 percent to 2.7 billion euros, the company said in a statement.
