Fed divisions rise over stimulus taper

Federal Reserve policymakers were deeply divided over whether to reduce monetary stimulus in September, according to the minutes of the meeting released Wednesday. Participants in the September 17-18 Federal Open Market Committee meeting also expressed concern about the negative impact of higher interest rates on the housing recovery, one of the few bright spots in the economy.
