ECB chief sees 'prolonged' period of low inflation

European Central Bank chief Mario Draghi said Thursday that inflation in the euro area was expected to remain very low for a prolonged period. "We may experience a prolonged period of low inflation," Draghi told a news conference after the ECB unexpectedly cut its key interest rate by a quarter of a percentage point to a new all-time low of 0.25 percent.
