DR Congo army takes second town from rebels

Government troops in Democratic Republic of Congo said Sunday they had driven M23 rebels from the eastern city of Rutshuru, after taking the town of Kiwanja, a local official said. "Rutshuru has just fallen to the FARDC (regular army). There were some clashes but the rebels have fled," local governor Julien Paluku told AFP on a third day of clashes between the M23 and government forces.
