British economy grows 0.8% in third quarter

The British economy grew by 0.8 percent in the third quarter of this year compared with output in the second quarter, official data showed on Friday. Gross domestic product -- the total value of goods and services produced in the economy -- rose by 0.8 percent in the July-September period compared with GDP growth of 0.7 percent in the second quarter, the Office for National Statistics said.
