4 French hostages kidnapped in Niger released

Four French hostages who were kidnapped by Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb in northern Niger in 2010 have been released, French President Francois Hollande said Tuesday in Bratislava. France's foreign and defence ministers "have left for Niamey", Hollande added. The hostages were working in Arlit, north-central Niger, for French nuclear giant Areva when they were kidnapped.
