Dance: Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch

A major season of works by pioneering choreographer Pina Bausch. Part of the Cultural Olympiad, the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch: World Cities 2012 season will see ten works performed over one month, each produced during a residency in a different city in the world between the years 1986 and 2009 - the year of Bausch's death. 'Bamboo Blues' was made in India in 2007 (cushy job, this globetrotting choreography lark) and it absorbs elements of Indian culture, dance and music and spits them out in a stream of shifting images that could only be Pina Bausch.
