Bound by the common thread of their passion for music, about 60 people from different walks of life and different age groups meet every evening. Thanks to these lively and creative discussions Dubai has been brought three musical shows in the last two years."Malhar is a non-profit group and we are all professionals who love Indian performing arts, mainly music. There are executives, architects, writers [and] people from diverse backgrounds."Jogiraj Sikidar, the founder of Malhar, said the idea came to him when he first moved to Dubai. "[I] was feeling frustrated as I couldn't find a place where I could be with people who shared similar interests, rehearse and just live music," said the senior television producer.Malhar is now coming up with its third show, O Ganga: Echoes from the River of Life, to be held on October 14 and 15."I would call this show an experience. It is for those interested in classical music and also for those who do not know much about it. The show will chart the entire course of the river Ganga, right from its birth at the Himalayan peaks, to its journey along the northern plains till it meets the Bay of Bengal," explained Sikidar. The journey will showcase the music, language and culture along the banks of the river.
