Queensland - WAM

Sultan Abdullah Al Yamahi, Charge d' Affaires of UAE Embassy to Australia, has opened the third sanctuary intended for the protection of inhabitants of Tali town, north of Queensland State, from the hurricanes and floods. Besides the sanctuary, multipurpose facilities, including terraces, theatres, malls, school and community halls and sports centres were constructed at a cost of $ 60 million, of which 30 million Australian Dollars were provided by the Government of Abu Dhabi as support to the state. The inauguration of the ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister of Australian Queensland State Campbell Newman and other Australian officials and dignitaries. Al Yamahi expressed his profound sorrow on the death of a number of people in the recent floods, which hit Queensland in January 2013. For his part, Newman thanked the Government of Abu Dhabi for its initiative.
