Kuwait is taking part in meetings of the governoring council of the UN Environment Program (UNEP) in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, with director general of Environment Public Authority (EPA) Dr. Salah Al-Mudhi heading the delegation. The participation of Kuwait is important because this will be the first time where the international membership regime is implemented, said Kuwait's Embassy in Nairobi in a statement. Kuwait is keen on participating in international environmental conferences with the aim of exchanging information and expertise to protecting environment, it added. Kuwait's Ambassador to Kenya and permanent envoy to UNEP, Yaqoub Al-Sanad, said the embassy would be taking part in a seminar about law and environment, and how to make international environmental laws compatible with local ones. He said State of Kuwait contributed USD 8.65 million to environment agreements and programs since 1975.
