The Kingdom of Bahrain celebrates each year in February its National Day for the Environment, which comes this year under the slogan of (Youths and the Environment). The Bahrain Society for the Environment considered the focusing on the youths sector in this year's national celebration of the Environment Day as a key indicator of working together to build a national strategy interested in the youths sector and developing their scientific knowledge in environmental domains and to put in youthful capabilities and potentials in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development and to implement projects which conserve natural environments in our beloved Kingdom which is a remarkable signifier of activation of the role of and encouraging the youth sector so as to boost community partnership in environmental action wherein the youthful sector constitute a key pivotal link in environmental activities as they can put in their creative capabilities and energies in terms of field, research, monitoring and organizational work,and, training and educational environmental programs. On this occasion, the Bahrain Society for the Environment emphasized that environmental issues in our country are in dire need for youthful contribution in order to determine the requirements of the strategy of environmental action in the upcoming period. Field work requires a thorough study of maritime ecology and coastal environments and the creation of an environmental databank regarding the features of main environments of significant strategic importance to our national economy to serve the best interest of livelihood our local communities and future generations, reading deteriorating natural habitat system and biodiversity, determining practical procedures to quality environmental systems in addition to environmental issues connected with developing eco-systems besides developing the basics of comprehensive management of waste and setting modern educational curricula and creating advanced plans for public awareness and building environmental capacities in the community.
