4.7 quake shakes Southern California

A magnitude 4.7 earthquake rattled Southern Califonia on Monday, according to the US Geological Survey. The quake was centered 25 kilometres south of Palm Desert, California, in a high desert area inland from San Diego, dpa reported. Initial reports estimated the quake at a much stronger 5.2 but were quickly revised down.
