London - Agencies
England off-spinner Graeme Swann has returned home from the tour of India in order to spend time with his ill daughter, the England and Wales Cricket Board said in a statement issued on Wednesday. However, the ECB said the 33-year-old Swann would be back in India in time for the start of a four-Tests series in Ahmedabad next week. “Graeme Swann has returned home to support his family and spend time with his daughter who is currently unwell,” the ECB statement said. “Swann will return to India ahead of the first Test in Ahmedabad, commencing Nov.15. “This is a personal matter and we would ask for everyone to give Graeme and his family privacy. We will not be making any further comment at this time.” Meanwhile, Swann feels that Indian tweakers will not be a threat to English batsmen on the turning tracks of the sub-continent. I think last winter was a bit different,” Swann was quoted as saying by cricket website. “India’s wickets are more traditional, more what people are used to,” said Swann.
