Zlatan Ibrahimovic made farewell to French Ligue 1 with a record-setting performance on Saturday as Paris Saint-Germain wrapped up the season with a 4-0 win over Nantes, while Monaco edged Nice in the race for third.

The Swede, who announced Friday to leave the French champions at the end of next month when his contract expires, made Ligue 1 history in the final round after scoring twice at Parc des Princes to exceed Carlos Bianchi's club record of 37 goals in a single league season.

Ibra opened the scoring at Parc des Princes after just 18 minutes before powering in a header in the 89th minute to earn a standing ovation.

Lucas Moura and Marquinhos each found the net between the 34-year-old's two goals.

Monaco claimed a 2-0 victory over Montpellier to finish on third place and to earn a Champions League qualifying spot, courtesy of Ivan Cavaleiro and a penalty from Fabinho.

The fourth-placed Nice rounded up a superb campaign after Alassanne Plea scored twice in a 3-2 win away to Guingamp.

At the other end of the table, Toulouse secured survival with a superb comeback from 2-1 down to a 3-2 win at Angers, thanks to two goals in two minutes from Martin Braithwaite and substitute Yann Bodiger after Wissam Ben Yedder's strike.

Toulouse subsequently finish on the 17th position, with Gazelec Ajaccio heading into Ligue 2 after being beaten 1-0 by Lorient, along with bottom club Troyes, who drew 1-1 with Marseille, and Reims, whose 4-1 thrashing of second-placed Lyon proved to be in vain.

Among the other results from the 38th and final round, Lille won away 1-0 at Saint-Etienne with a penalty to secure a top-five finish, while Caen beat Bordeaux 1-0 to climb into seventh at the expense of Rennes, who lost 2-1 at home to Bastia with courtesy of two goals from Francois Kamano.
