British boxer David Haye announced on Tuesday that his heavyweight fight against compatriot Tyson Fury has been rearranged for next February in Manchester. The pair were due to face off at the city's Phones 4U Arena this Saturday, only for Haye to postpone the bout last weekend after suffering a cut above his left eye while sparring that required six stitches. The fight will now take place on February 8, 2014. "News of the date in February is music to my ears," said Haye, a former world heavyweight champion. "I was absolutely devastated this weekend, and felt as though I'd let a lot of people down. But now, with this new date, I couldn't be happier. "My fans will still get the chance to see what they all wanted to see this weekend -- they'll get to see Tyson Fury sparked out in a spectacular fashion." Fury has been critical of Haye's late withdrawal, accusing his rival of running scared. "There's no excuses ever out of me," the Manchester fighter told Sky Sports. "You never hear me say excuses. If I had two broken hands, I would still go in there and fight on Saturday night." Source: AFP
