The FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided today to suspend Switzerland’s national team coach Ottmar Hitzfeld for two official matches after he was considered to have breached article 57 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code (offensive behaviour and fair play) during the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ qualifier against Norway on 12 October 2012. Furthermore, Hitzfeld has been ordered to pay a fine of CHF 7,000 and will also have to bear the costs of the proceedings of CHF 1,000. The coach of the Swiss national team will be suspended for the following two matches of the preliminary competition of Brazil 2014: - Cyprus-Switzerland on 23 March 2013 - Switzerland-Cyprus on 8 June 2013 According to article 118 of the FIFA Disciplinary Code, this decision cannot be appealed and is therefore final and binding.
