Fernandao sacked as Internacional coach

Brazilian coach Fernandao has been sacked by Internacional, the club confirmed on Wednesday. The 34-year-old former Marseille and Toulouse striker took over as coach of the club from southern Brazil on 20 July, just months after retiring as a player with Internacional. Despite recruiting stars such as Uruguayen Diego Forlan, the Brazilian first division side are just eighth in the league with two games to go, after suffering a third straight league defeat at the weekend.
