Sudan's Al-Merreikh FC on Saturday failed to qualify for tje CAF Confederation Cup finals after a goalless home draw with Leopard of the Republic of Congo in Omdurman. Leopard avanced to the finals with a 2-1 aggregated score. Al-Merreikh strikers squandered many scoring opportunities while Leopard players, who adopted a complete defensive tactic since the beginning of the match, failed to convert the few opportunities they found from dangerous counter-attacks. At the beginning of the second half, Al-Merreikh coach Heron Ricardo made three substitutions to activate his team' s attacking front, but the team' s performance remained unchanged. Leopard will play with the winner between Al-Hilal of Sudan and Djoliba of Mali, slated for Sunday in Bamako, capital of Mali. Al-Hilal FC won its first leg match against Djoliba at home in Omdurman 2-0.
