Jerusalem - Moneib Saada

Palestinian leading member of Fatah Movement Salwa Hadeeb blamed the Israeli government for increasing violations committed against the Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem, saying that Israeli government deliberately takes the approach of increasing the settlement projects in the holy city to achieve their objectives in a clear violation to the international resolutions.
She added, in an interview with “Arabs Today”, the Israeli occupation authorities are working to confiscate the lands of Jerusalemites and intensify the settlement projects in Jerusalem and the construction of the wall to expand and expel the Arab Jerusalemites from East Jerusalem which is considered their city.
She stressed that the Israeli occupation adopts repressive approach against the Palestinian residents of the holy city, saying that they pay twice as much of the tax even on his property as housing in his home.
She revealed that the Palestinian residents of the city are forced to buy settlement goods and prevent local Arab and Palestinian products. The city of Jerusalem is targeted by its construction, its people and its trees.
The Palestinian politician stressed that the Palestinian people and factions should realize the lessons from the battle of Jerusalem and to go to unity as soon as possible, saying that the unity of Palestinian people succeeded in overcoming all aspects of political division and disagreement, whether the unity of political and religious forces or unity of purpose and slogans against the Israeli occupation.
She added that there is a need to keep the element of organization, which succeeded in providing the requirements of steadfastness to the masses at the door of the tribes and embrace the arrivals from outside the city to the role of political forces acting in a non-public means the fall of martyrs in this battle the other factor that contributed to this victory.
She blamed the Israeli government for failure of negotiations in resolving the issue of Jerusalem or the Palestinian cause in the conviction that the popular situation must bear its historic responsibilities in the face of the occupation and its measures and beyond the ceiling of power and even impose its will on power.
She added, “In light of the current political development, it is necessary to confront the division in order to restore unity to end all internal contradiction in terms of contradiction with the occupation and its procedures.”
In the same context, the Palestinian politician stressed the need for holding the meeting of Palestinian National Council as soon as possible, saying that it is the only way to renew the legitimacy of Palestinian Liberation Organization’s institutions to face the coming challenges facing the Palestinian issue as whole.
She added that that there are many arrangements for the holding of the Palestinian National Council, through consultations involving all factions, saying that the meeting comes in the framework of preparations for the meeting of Palestinian National Council
