Two terrorists from Hasm movement were killed in a firefight with security forces in Cairo, the Interior Ministry's security media official said Tuesday.
The terrorists were involved in the murder of three policemen in a previous attack on a security patrol in Nasr City, he added.
Police had information that the two terrorists were seeking to change their hideout, the official said, noting that the security forces ambushed a car carrying them where fire exchanged.
The militants opened fire on the forces when they approached their car, he said, adding that the forces returned the fire, killing the two militants.
Arms and ammunition were seized in the car, the official noted.
On February 11, an Egyptian court banned Hasm movement after claiming responsibility for deadly attacks and assassination attempts of public figures.
