Iraqi Ambassador in Cairo Habib al Sadr urged the international community to unite in order to combat terrorism and dry up its ideological and funding sources so as to avoid the emergence of new Daesh.
Sadr made the remarks on the sidelines of the ceremony held by the Iraqi Embassy in Cairo to celebrate the victory achieved over terrorists in Iraq, in the presence of a host of ministers, officials, lawmakers, actors, journalists, businessmen, media men in addition to Arab and foreign diplomats.
The Iraqi diplomat further added that Iraq is close to achieve security and stability as well as to reconstruct the destroyed cities and bring their displaced residents back home.
The reconstruction of Iraq requires pushing forward investments, introducing economic and financial reform programs, combating corruption and working to stop external interference, he stressed.
Meanwhile, Sadr pointed to the visit made Wednesday by Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry to Baghdad, where he met with Iraqi political figures.
