An explosion hit a bank in the Afghan capital on Tuesday, close to the US embassy compound, killing at least one person, officials have said.
Reuters quoted the Interior Ministry Spokesman, Najib Danish, as saying that the blast hit the entrance to a Kabul Bank branch. The public health ministry said one person had been killed and eight others wounded.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the blast, which came as banks are busy with people withdrawing money ahead of Eid al-Adha at the end of the week.
